EpicSurf Leader Wins Silent Auction for Sustainable Cause!

Aquatic Development Group’s COO Bruce Quay wins silent auction for a one-of-one surfboard hand painted during Surf Park Central’s recent Summit in San Diego, California.

Like its name suggests, Surf Park Summit is the pinnacle event that connects industry leaders from around the world and includes surf park developers, wave technology companies, investors, academics and athletes, focused on emerging topics related to manmade waves.

Also attending the Summit’s largest gathering to date was California surf artist, Drew Brophy who hand painted a surfboard over the course of three-days for the silent auction. Quay’s generosity represents his commitment toward one of the industry’s biggest challenges and a dominating topic of this year’s Summit – sustainability.

Auction proceeds benefit the Rob Machado Foundation (RMF) and their core focus of supporting environmental programs that inspire and educate youth. Machado, one of the world’s most recognizable surfers and a committed environmentalists founded the RMF in 2004.

“The essence of the Rob Machado Foundation is about educating and empowering young people to make responsible choices that impact the future. As both a father, consumer and a leader of an aquatic-based manufacturing company, these themes related to sustainability resonate with me,” said Quay. “It’s also a great piece of art.”
